She opened the year against England with a scorching 49-ball 91* and followed it up with a three-wicket haul, showcasing her incredible all-around talent.

She had previously had success with the ball as well, returning 3/26 from her four overs and limiting England to 169/4. However, because of the aggressive approach McGrath employed and her courageous batting, the total looked low until she and captain Meg Lanning successfully chased it down with 18 balls remaining.
She scored 128 runs in five matches at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games, average 42.66. She was selected as the ICC Women's Player of the Month for August of last year as a result of her outstanding performance.
McGrath completed 2022 with style as well, turning in outstanding performances during the December tour of India. She scored 146 runs in five innings at an average of 48.66 during the tour, which covered five matches, including a knock of 70* off 51 balls in the second T20I.
